Miguel Valentino formed Havana Nights when he returned to the UK from Cuba, excited and inspired by Cuban dance and music. At the time, Cuban Salsa was almost unknown in the Midlands. Starting with a handful of students, Miguel launched the first authentically Cuban Salsa Night in the Midlands at Jongleurs in Leicester, bringing the warmth, excitement and passions of Cuban dance and music to the hearts of his students. Miguel passionately believes that dancing should be enjoyed by everyone, not just professional dancers. Recognising that most people think they can't dance and lack confidence, Miguel focused on developing one of the most structured, effective and exciting Salsa programmes in the country, to make the dance accessible and enjoyable for all, whilst maintaining the authenticity and spirit of the dance..

As his students developed, Miguel developed some of them into his own in house team of teachers, who have become outstanding Salsa teachers, in their own right, and make Havana Nights a vibrant and exciting Salsa scene. Today Havana Nights is the leading Cuban Salsa club in the UK with many weekly Salsa Nights, monthly parties, specialist workshops and other great events. Through Havana Events Limited we organise the annual 'International Cuban Salsa Congress', an indulgent Salsa weekend at Bodelwyddan Castle, which brings together guests from the across the world and the best UK and International Cuban dancers, teachers and performers.
